Is there an approved standard that Irish Bed and Breakfasts must meet?

Yes. A Bed and Breakfast can become a member of the Irish tourist Board if it maintains a certain standard. This standard is regulated each year through inspection.

What electricity supply is there in Ireland?

Electricity is 220V in Ireland and flat three-pin plugs are used. A lot of bathrooms have two-pin 110V to 220V plugs for shavers and if adapters are needed, they can be purchased in Electrical shops. We supply adaptors from the European two pins to the Irish three pin in our Bed and Breakfast.

What is the weather like in Ireland? / What sort of clothes should I pack?

The weather in Ireland is very mild but also very changeable. You can get rain and sun in the same day! The weather is best from May to September. It is advisable to bring light comfortable and casual clothes; jeans and t-shirts with some light sweaters. You will have very little need for formal wear while in Ireland. Good walking shoes and wet gear will cover all eventualities

Would you need a car in Ireland?

If you rent a car while staying in Ireland you will find it easier to get around and visit the places you want to see. You will not get off the beaten track with public transport and a good road map will get you around easily. Remember in Ireland we drive on the left hand side of the road!

What are the check in and out times for your bed and breakfast?

Check in time is between 2pm and 6pm. It is no problem if you are going to be later than 6pm, but we do require that you call to confirm the room so that we can hold it for you and be guaranteed that you are coming.

Check out time is 11am.

Do we need to bring towels or bed linen?

No. Bed linen is provided and towels are changed daily.

Do you accept credit cards?

We do not accept credit cards

Do you facilitate small children?

Yes. We provide cots if required and our family room can fit two single beds with the parents' king size bed.
